Induction and Graduation Ceremony

Chaminade University’s Hogan Entrepreneurs celebrated the graduation and induction of its students on April 23rd in the Mystical Rose Oratory. This marked the 12th graduation for a special program that encourages its students to link their entrepreneurial passion with academic achievement so that they might maximize their contributions to the economy and to the communities where they live. The program’s motto “doing business things that make social sense; doing social things that make business sense,” is taken very seriously. Thirty-three student-entrepreneurs were granted certificates and twenty new student-entrepreneurs were inducted. Since its inception in 2002, the program has graduated more than 200 student entrepreneurs.

The April ceremony included a special presentation of the Hogan Program’s Lifetime Entrepreneurial Achievement Award to David Cohen, former president of Common Cause, co-founder of the Advocacy Institute and one of the nation’s most respected public interest lobbyists.  This award was presented by Ed Hogan, Chairman of the Hogan Family Foundation and Bro. Bernie Ploeger, President of Chaminade University. This is only the fourth time that the award has been given. David Cohen was the keynote speaker.
