Homeless Job Preparation Workshop Program

The Hogan Program sponsors a job preparation workshop for the homeless once a year in October. There are usually about 25 homeless participants who spend the day with Hogan students who help prepare them for future employment. Time will be spent creating resumes, conducting mock interviews, and learning about employment resources available to them. Their resumes are then sent to more than 500 potential employers.

Community Service

Each year, students serve their community by dedicating 25 hours of their time. Students choose how and where they donate their good will within the state of Hawai’i. Many organizations seek volunteers, such as Red Cross and Humane Society among others. Students are encouraged to identify opportunities early and begin service without delay.

It the student is having trouble locating a community service opportunity, they may visit Chaminade University’s Service Learning¬†as a good resource to begin their search.

The service hours cannot be done in conjunction with a class required service learning project.

Students serving community service must submit a Social Community Service Activity Form.
